The old photos of Northland are fing awesome. It's so sad they they tore this down for the bigbox retail. I wish the new retail could have been incorporated into the original buildings. Those buildings look like the modern buildings that are being built today, well at least in other countries...

Well, on the bright side, I'm guessing Jamestown will never need a curfew to keep out hordes of unruly teenagers.

Bad form replying to my own post, but I stand corrected:
Jamestown Mall will be next to limit teen patronage

Two dead at Jamestown. Sounds like a dispute between a couple that ends with a murder/suicide.

This won't help the place.

^ You're right. It doesn't really matter that this was apparently a domestic issue.
Whenever there's a shooting at a mall, there goes the perception of the place, even if the reality dictates that this was an isolated incident that really could've happened anywhere. See also Northwest Plaza, which is truly on life support. Perception of that mall has suffered for years, but really took a dive after a fatal shooting in 1994 at Famous-Barr there. Or, for more extreme examples, look at what happened to the Mall of Memphis in Tennessee and Bannister Mall in Kansas City, both of which have since been demolished.
It can't help that Jamestown Mall was already in sad shape. Its Macy's location must certainly be on borrowed time. Dillard's closed almost two years ago, and JC Penney converted its store there to an outlet location many years before. Despite the circumstances, this incident is probably another nail in the coffin.
