While most were probably beyond the point of no return, I am guessing that there was more than one or two that were good candidates for renovation

I am getting a little tired of blaming the buildings for crime - The criminals will move on - not too far away, or just find a way to be nefarious in a different way - you will never be able to demo enough, by this logic Detroit should be crime free. You don't solve anything just shuffle the problem - nothing changes

I am sure there has to be a study somewhere but I would like to see what the real affects are - my guess this is one of those things like blocking off neighborhood streets - it was offered as a solution years ago and people just swear by it.

Lots of houses coming down on Page right now. Already looks depressing.

The demolition docket site has a disturbing image of what Rankin wants to demolish now.

^^Docket photo is wrong. The building Ranken is demolishing is the Western Sheet Metal Building, which is the low building to the west and across the street from the neoclassical structure.

Thanks for the clarification Pres. Huge sigh of relief. Maybe the recent Taylor donation (some of which was for new equipment) coincides with plans for some new classroom/workshop space.
