While most were probably beyond the point of no return, I am guessing that there was more than one or two that were good candidates for renovation
I am getting a little tired of blaming the buildings for crime - The criminals will move on - not too far away, or just find a way to be nefarious in a different way - you will never be able to demo enough, by this logic Detroit should be crime free. You don't solve anything just shuffle the problem - nothing changes
I am sure there has to be a study somewhere but I would like to see what the real affects are - my guess this is one of those things like blocking off neighborhood streets - it was offered as a solution years ago and people just swear by it.
