has anybody heard anything about this? is it a done deal?

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported on the proposed buy out of FYE in November, 2016:
Chick-fil-A has under contract the F.Y.E. store at 3801 Hampton Avenue in St. Louis and plans to replace it next year with one of its fast-food outlets.
A manager at the F.Y.E. store said Wednesday he was unaware of the Chick-fil-A project.
HR Green is handling the project's engineering and "running point" on getting a conditional use permit for the Chick-fil-A at the site, Vavrina said. The Atlanta-based fastfood chain plans to have one of its customary general contractors build the Hampton Avenue outpost, he said. (source)

I heard about this project. It is a done deal though a timeline in not available yet. But I would expect the FYE building be gone by Early Fall.

Anyone know if FYE is moving or just closing their STL location?

That would be a shame. I know these forms of media are obsolete in some ways, but there is still a demand for them. These are the types of businesses that make the City unique. I can think of a LOT of other places to locate a Chick-fil-A. The fact that this building is being torn down and such a huge prime lot is being used for a fast food joint, one that is very similar to the one just built up the street (Raising Cane's) is a real shame!
