People talk about demolition lists, but is there a place to go to find out if a building that needs to be demolished is actually coming down? How do you know if it's on "the list"? What about adding buildings to the demolition list? Really what I'm wondering is if there is a transparent system to track demolitions showing where and when they are happening?
I'm not talking about controversial demolitions that are in historic districts and need city historic approval. I'm talking about just regular demolitions of generic city buildings that are in dilapidated and abandoned condition and need to be demolished. How do average citizens find out the ongoing status of demolitions of these buildings?
Since this is such a serious matter, it would be good for this process to be very much out in the open. Do neighbors have a say?
