There are a LOT of demolitions proposed in The Ville - who's behind all this?

In the past several years many buildings have been denied demolition in the Ville by the Preservation Board. Are these building owned by Blairmont and companies?

I checked the two on Aldine on GeoStLouis (http://stlcin.missouri.org/citydata/newdesign/index.cfm)--don't have time to check the rest.

LRA owns them.

The wonderful new Alderman Sam Moore.

He claims "it is the will of the people" that they be demolished.

He really is doing it because Shelton wouldn't. This is simply a political fight and the buildings are the victim.

The bottom line is that this is an historic district. The CRO needs to take a firm line and stress that they shouldn't be demolished.

It's shocking to see some of the buildings that were proposed for demolition. Fortunately, the Preservation Committee voted to deny demolition for most of them.

Good to hear demolition permits were denied. Unbelievable.. Wish there were some architecture classes in SLPS... maybe that way people would appreciate the architecture in st louis, particularly the city.
