A water buffalo is a large domesticated ungulate land mammal that is primarily used across much of Asia as a draft animal, and for its delicious and nutritious milk. Surprisingly rare in the St. Louis bar scene, but can be found at the zoo with remarkable regularity (due in large part to an extensive network of fences).

Guy meets a 50ish cougar who asks him if he's ever done the mother/daughter thing. He says no but he's willing. They get back to her house, she throws the door open and says ' Mom, are you still awake?"

No definition, but saw this on Shirt.Woot (which has St. Louis ties, BTW), and thought it was apropos:

Wear this shirt to: prison. Make sure you tell everybody you're a flaming chicken-hawk. You'll get a really warm welcome.

Isn't a chicken hawk somebody who's never been to war but always supports going to war? Particularly if they've avoided, personally, being in a war...

Or it could be this:
A chickenhawk or chicken hawk is slang used in American and British gay culture to denote older males who prefer younger males for partners, who may less often be called "chickens", i.e. the prey of the chickenhawk. Other variations include chicken queen and chicken plucker.

It is sometimes used as a disparaging vulgarity within the LGBT community, or seen as a slur against people in that community. The label can also be applied to a man who seeks partners with the look of someone young, regardless of their target's age.

Much less frequently, "chickenhawk" indicates a man who uses underage boys for his sexual pleasure. The usage was publicized by members of the controversial group NAMBLA in the 1994 documentary film Chicken Hawk: Men Who Love Boys, although Time magazine reported it in this sense in 1975.

The use and significance of this term have been the subject of academic discussions as well as popular reports.

From Wiki.

And, now I'm sorry for having googled this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... er+buffalo

Woman admits knowingly risking infection of her boyfriend

By Shane Anthony

ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH

09/18/2007

ST. CHARLES — A St. Charles woman is expected to get a 10-year prison sentence after admitting Monday that she had unprotected sex with her boyfriend without telling him she has the virus that causes AIDS.

Angela D. Harris, 27, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of knowingly and recklessly risking infection of another person with HIV. Prosecutors agreed to drop a third count and recommend two concurrent prison terms of 10 years in exchange for her guilty plea.

Harris was arrested in February 2006, a couple of months after the boyfriend learned of her infection from Harris' mother.

Harris' mother told police her daughter had sex with as many as 100 people in the previous four to five years.

But Harris' attorney, Deborah J. Alessi, said Monday that Harris' mother couldn't substantiate those claims under questioning.

"Ms. Harris isn't this horrible person that she was portrayed to be," Alessi said.

Harris discovered that she was HIV-positive when she suffered a miscarriage at age 14, police said. She may have become infected from a partner who didn't tell her he had HIV. They said she had four children with three men and was pregnant again when she was arrested. One of the older children is HIV-positive; the others all have tested negative.

Assistant Prosecutor Dulany Harms said the former boyfriend, whose relationship with Harris formed the basis for the charges, also has tested negative for HIV.

St. Charles County Prosecutor Jack Banas said Harris would have faced a harsher penalty of up to life in prison had the man contracted HIV.

The charges against Harris carried potential sentences of five to 15 years in prison for each count.

Harris has been free since she posted bond Aug. 7. Harms said she has been on house arrest at the home of a family friend in Monroe City, Mo. He said the family friend is a retired law enforcement officer.

Alessi said Harris, who has been in prison before for burglary and forgery charges, will seek help while she is in prison.

"She has a very positive attitude, and she wants to get this behind her and come back home and raise her children and be with her family," Alessi said.

Circuit Judge Lucy Rauch set Harris' sentencing for Oct. 18.

Oh damn.

Somebody who can post photos (not me) needs to put up a selection of "do not wants." I'm thinking dog with broccoli would be appropriate.

please.

Got dragged kicking and screaming to a birthday party this weekend at "Jive and Wail" in Maplewood. I hate dueling piano bars but I relented and went since I agreed to be a designated driver.

Interesting crowd. About 75% female on a Saturday night with a ton of bachelorette parties and other events being celebrated. Lots of cougars and lots of 21-25 year old chicks squeeling when stuff like "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Baby Got Back" gets played.

Haha this thread is too funny. Mainly because when I read the subject line the first thing that popped into my head was "Jive & Wail". That place should rename itself The Cougar Den.

Solid thread here overall.
Cougars? Cheetahs? Pumas?
Meow.

Focus: My general understanding of patterns for "Cougar" migration to bars is based on the drink selection and de-emphasis on sports tv and beers on tap in favor of a monied atmosphere, including a dozen different martiniesque cocktails in a special menu and BMWs in the parking lot. Less hip, more established. More often than not, it's suburban, as the kids are raised in the County (there's soccer balls in those Beemers). If you're also looking at the happy hour crowd, think of places which have proximity to shopping, a gathering activity that usually brings together these cats in packs. Best is when you find bars near yoga or pilates places.

Noting its suburban setting, the large number of boutiques, its proximity to Wellbridge and municipal athletic centers, the car brands, and the restaurant selection, I can think of no better place than Clayton for the younger guys here to go trolling for older women wanting to buy them cocktails with red liquid. I'd recommend Cardwell's.

Plus, have you really taken notice of what comes out for Parties in the Park? Not the workers, but the married women who come in only for the drinking and socializing. Little more than collagen with tanned legs, big purses, and designer hair weaves.

Even worse: Truffles on Clayton Road in Ladue. My younger sister was recently working nearby and went there for drinks with a coworker, neither thinking to expect anything out of the ordinary. Inside, she said pretty much the whole clientele was rich married people having affairs. That's it. Everywhere she looked, she said, it was cuckolds and a couple waitresses. However, because everyone there's a cuckold, and no one wants to out the others, they all carry on in a quasi-public nature. She said it was bizarre and truly creepy.

Bonus: the food's really good. I hear.

I'll add Villa Farroto in Chesterfield to GC's list. Cougs don't seem to be too big on the city.

Word.

In addition to Gone Corporate and DeBaliviere's suggestions, I'd submit that anywhere in Chesterfield Valley fitting the above description, including Villa Farotto, would probably reveal many cougars in their preferred habitat. There are at least two or three places up and down Long Road, for example, that probably cater to this crowd.

Now, for those of you that want to know where hoosier cougars (hoogars? cousiers?) are, I can think of several South City/South County dives that might be target-rich environments. :P
