Compton Heights, the St. Louis neighborhood of mansions on curved streets, has earned a shout out from This Old House, the popular PBS program in which expert craftsmen remodel distinctive homes across the country.

TOH, as its known to its fans, lists Compton Heights among 64 "great neighborhoods that have promising futures, strong communities, and homes that truly deserve a long-term commitment." Architectural diversity, craftsmanship of the homes, and preservation momentum in the area as well as neighborhood amenities including walkability, safety and community were among the factors that went into the neighborhoods' selection.
