Although I didn't go to school there, I've always loved Columbia. I'd say it's my second favorite Missouri city after St. Louis (and, dare I say this?) it may be home to my favorite Missouri downtown. Of course I love downtown St. Louis, but the amount of local businesses and the level of activity in downtown Columbia are really impressive for a city that size (just under 100,000 now if I recall correctly). There are communities large and small that would love to have a downtown nearly as vibrant as downtown Columbia (or should I say The District?).



Be sure to post those photos of the Mizzou campus if you get a chance!

I never thought of it before, but you could be right that Columbia has the best downtown in Missouri.
