^That'd look significantly different now, what with new towers in the fore, middle, and even background. That said, it is a glorious pic.

My new office views. Directly in sight are Forsyth Pointe, Ceylon, and the Bemiston Place construction pit.  With any luck, this will also be my front-row seat to the AC Clayton and other proposed new towers construction! If I don't get fired quickly, I will keep this view updated with the big changes as they appear.

Imagine if Clayton didn't have a downtown, and all their current buildings were moved to downtown STL. The density would be amazing.

Yep.  That’s exactly what would have happened.

I've always liked the seperate downtowns, personally. It gives it a twin city feel. Kinda like "St. Louis is too big for one downtown footprint so it had to build another" type feel LOL

Yep.  That’s exactly what would have happened.

I agree, it's not uncommon that metros of over a couple million people or more start developing other CBD nodes. Very few metros are monocentric in that sense. With that said, I like the idea of the Central Corridor densifying. I could see St. Louis developing something similar to a Peachtree type corridor in Atlanta, just obviously much smaller but actually more authentically urban.

Snapped these while watching the birds finally win a game.

^Dropping two to the Padres was definitely depressing, but that view makes many things better.

A friend of a friend from LA once stayed at a hotel in Clayton. He couldn't understand why he couldn't find the Arch; he thought he was Downtown.
