pretty nice.... I look forward to the day when we get these types of development in Downtown West and Midtown infill.
Shame the site is already built upon rather than one fo the parking lots or empty lots.
Cool. Thanks for posting.
Five projects proposed in/around Downtown Clayton now: The Crossing, Montgomery Tower, The Vanguard, 25 N. Central, and Maryland Elementary Townhouses (along with murmurings of a Centene Phase II). Pretty robust pipeline.

Does St. Louis have a bigger competitor for jobs/residents than Clayton?wabash wrote:Cool. Thanks for posting.

Clayton is certainly the biggest urban alternative, but i think st. Charles has done far more damage to the city than Clayton. Chesterfield too.

^ agreed. The way I'd put it is that Clayton is now a major contender against the City in attempting to draw the upscale person who wants a more urban lifestyle. Clayton provides a more sanitized version but that is also part of its appeal to many.

This project is continuing to move forward. Opus is going before the Architectureal Review Board May 4.

Looked like they began removing the Windows today
Demo of the Frank Building is happening now. Only the north corner is still standing.
I predict I will be kicked out of my office space in Clayton before the middle of 2017. This place is on fire.wabash wrote:Five projects proposed in/around Downtown Clayton now: The Crossing, Montgomery Tower, The Vanguard, 25 N. Jobs bring development. It shouldn't be debated.
Indeed.
Although I'd wouldn't say today that the oft proposed/rendered Montgomery Tower is "in the pipeline." It seems this iteration is as dead as the last one.

"Jobs bring development"
yeah and we've seen what happens if/when the jobs leave after 20 years. I'd rather have residents driving business driving jobs.

Anyone know how to post a video here from Facebook? Here is a cool dash cam video of the Franke building coming down.

^ Cool video and worth the click... not sure how to embed that though as media doesn't work
Seriously? It took just two backhoes to pull down a building of that size? Scary! Of course, I'm sure they weakened the structure first, but still...

Still a giant hole in the ground. Nothing to photograph this weekend.
