Can you tell us what you mean (in dollars) by this? If someone is doing more than trying to piece together a portfolio by offering bottom-dollar, sitting, allowing property to devalue, then offering bottom-dollar again, well, maybe there's a plan in the works.

Any news form eco-absence?

It looks like something is being built just north of the Neighborhood Gardens, at least I thought I saw something as I sped by there yesterday on 70.

^ ?!?!?!? An MLS stadium? If true - and I'm guessing it's not - what a waste. Isn't this a residential area?

I think Michael Allen over at Ecology of Absence would find this bit of info interesting.

Well I know three down that way said their ready to get out and if their offer is any good at all their taking it and running ..

PostDec 13, 2006#9

It's more rundown warehouses then anything and the one person that is sitting on most of the houses down there is one that has already said if their offer is any good at all then its theirs . .

PostDec 13, 2006#10

Well if it's not true then the guy lied to my friend way their wanting to buy his land from him . He said they gave his daughter a picture of what it's suppose to look like and I did ask him to see if his daugther will make a copy of the picture so I could have one he said as soon as she gets it back to him he will let me know .

^ I didn't really mean to imply that someone's lying, I just don't have a clue what "International sports arena" someone could be envisioning.

This is very interesting to me. However, I don't think that this project is related to Blairmont.

No, it hasn't. I have not seen the rendering, and I don't think that the Old North St. Louis Restoration Group has seen it either.

The footprint area includes many historic buildings that are contributing resources to the Mullanphy Historic District. That district has lost many contributing resources, and further loss would not only destroy the architectural context but could also destroy the district -- meaning the loss of tax credits for that part of Old North.

I would oppose any demolition for the project.

If the investors want a prominent large site north of downtown, they should buy the Schnucks site. It would be a perfect match for their arena.

[edit] v sorry Trent, should have put a  in there. I very much appreciate everyone's efforts to contribute to the discussion here, regardless of punctuation. [/edit]

Relax, dude.

Those posts are hard to read. The thoughts are there, but they are difficult to read. I was just pointing that out, most of the time people adapt, and it makes things better for those trying to read posts here. I had to skip over most of what was said because it was hard to follow.

Proof? Source? Your lack of coherence is suspect.
