This really has nothing to do with the QT construction, but I just drove by the site again today, and the building across the street at 3425 South Kingshighway was being torn down. This building sits between Uncle Bill's Pancake House and a Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Does anyone have an idea what the future use might be? It is a relatively small parcel of land, so not sure what can be done with it, other than expanding existing parking for either business adjacent to it. Here is a view of the property taken from the City of St. Louis Assessor's Office:

It looks like they were halfway finished with tearing down the front of it today... so I would imagine they just got started. I don't think it would take much longer than 24-hours to remove the entire building. The next time you drive by, I doubt it will still be there.
I drove by, and I can't figure out why it is being torn down. I hope that it is for a new building, because it would be a shame to lose the building that is there now for just more parking.
Currently, both that building and Uncle Bill's Pancake House are owned by C & L RESTAURANT CORP.
Well, it looks like expanding the parking lot may be the purpose... maybe someone more familiar with "The City Journal" can make sense of the following, published in the October 26th, 2004 issue. There is a section in there regarding consolidating 3425 and 3427 S. Kingshighway in C.B. 6066 for C & L Restaurant Corp.

It used to be retail. I believe it used to have an Oriental Rug Importer/Wholesaler at one time before they moved into a vacant KFC restaruant space just north of Manchester on Kingshighway. Since they moved out, it had sat empty. Not sure about the circumstances of the move.
From what I can recall, the building was 2-stories and had some decent architectural details.
