Anyone know what the big wood frame building is going up on the northeast corner of Meramec and Gravois. This is right behind the Time Out Bar.
Say what you will about the building designs, but it will be good to fill in a hole on Gravois right next to the SSNB tower/condos and the dental building. That massive parking lot is an eyesore. It's kind of ironic that the teen rehab is right in the heart of dealing grounds at the gas station at Grand/Gravois and on Gravois across from the shuttered 7-11 by Shop-N-Save.

^Does the nearby dealer problem necessitate the demand for this centers being located here?
You can also look to how another rehab center, the Harris House, has its location in Carondelet/Patch along South Broadway, another area with a strong dealer presence.

I get it, I just find it ironic that the "consumers" as they are referred to in the press release can look out the windows and see the game right across the street at the Philips and White Castle.

Perhaps the Philips and White Castle owners are supportive of this group leading efforts to "clean up" the neighborhood? When surrounded by active drug sales and usage, not much better a business to locate to the vacant lot near their properties than a rehab.
I very much see your point, though. I couldn't imagine living next to a non-druggie Whitey's without jonesing for burgers every day, can't imagine what that must be like for the inpatients getting off smack.
