Got a Development Update in the Clayton Newsletter.

Seems they are putting in the Qdoba at 6701 Clayton Road. I thought there was a thread somewhere discussing this... from the newsletter

"Following demolition of the former Custom Brew House and State Farm Insurance buildings on the eastern section of the property, the former St. Louis Bread Company building will be renovated for a new tenant - Qdoba. The renovations will include a new 5 foot sidewalk, a 10-foot tree lawn, and street trees along Clayton Road. The Project is expected to go before the Board of Aldermen in late June or early July."

woot. tear down those buildings for more parking!

Is there new news? That's almost six months old.

Last I'd heard the nearby residents raised such a stink at the first proposal that Qdoba killed it. Is it back? There's a reason that Custom Brew House closed quickly and the space has sat empty for over a decade.

It will get shouted down: quickly and loudly. Some real BANANAs around there.

But parking is an issue. The neighboring buildings wanted to go permit only for street parking or get meters at one point.

I was actually checking up on this project last week. There were some complaints and they came back with some revisions. I'll look back and see if I can find the ARB email that prompted me to look at it since they've since taken the plans off the pending applications page.

EDIT: Here is what was listed in last weeks ARB meeting Schedule for last Tuesday.

Resolution - To approve a Conditional Use Permit for Sergio Lopez, Qdoba Restaurant Corporation, to be known as Qdoba Mexican Grill located at 6701 Clayton Road. (Res. No. 15-07)
• To consider a request for a Qdoba Restaurant to be located at 6701 Clayton Road(formerly St. Louis Bread Company).

What were they? I assume it was stuff like lighting and delivery hours.

Unfortunately I don't recall. Ideally we'd save the buildings or have the Qdoba build out at the intersection but overall I think this, combined with the Bread Co accross the street, is a nice improvement.

Forgot all about this idiocy. How far do RH residents currently have to drive to get their salmonella fix?

Are you thinking of Chipotle and e coli? Qdoba is quality.

Although a google search shows there actually may have been some salmonella related typhoid fever from one Colorado location of Qdoba back in November.
