It looks like Bar Rescue & Jon Taffer came to town and are doing 3 bars all in the City of St. Louis. Hell yeah for Hollywood investment in the city limits!

Anyway, the former Van Gohz on Shenandoah is now Crafted...the former O'Kelly's on 4th Street east of Broadway Oyster Bar is now Pastimes on 4th and the last one is the City Bistro on Gravois just west of Jefferson...not sure yet what it has become or is called after the transformation.

Pretty interesting that they did 3 bars in the City proper and frankly all three they chose are in what I would consider to be less than grade A locations, which if you watch the show, Taffer is always keyed into the demographics/traffic counts, etc and I have heard that he takes an equity stake in the revamped operations (not for sure if true though)... so it will be interesting to see the episode whenever it airs.

^ I hope Pastimes works as a name for a bar! My fave bar name by the way is the Hard Times Lounge on Olive in DT West... truth in advertising!

I checked out Crafted the other night and, honestly, Van Gohz was better.

I have no idea what would have been wrong with Van Gohz.

Maybe they should have taken over the Dubliner.

Any additional information on Pastimes? As someone who works in the dead zone south of downtown, I'm excited about anything that could spur development momentum. Also excited about anywhere that might offer a walkable lunch.

When I googled Pastimes on 4th, all I could find was some job listings. Is it open? Will it serve food? Anybody know?

My thoughts exactly. I go there pretty regularly (or used to) and have never had a bad experience. I can think of a lot of other bars that deserve to be "rescued" more than Van Gohz.
