don't expect Kanye West production, some guy I know threw this together for school or something, I'm not sure. love it or hate it, it might be relevant to your interests.

I would advise them not to quit their day jobs. The wads of cash? That is so cutting edge! Well, it would be if it was still 1992.

I'm not a fan of rap or that song.

Some good view of St. Louis, though.

Lol at the shot in front of White Castle. Yeah, that's unique.

This song is hilarious. Love it. So many good times on that Ventana rooftop.

Most unexpected: Bici Cafe and Ulysses S. Grant star on Delmar.

I just don't get this new rap. Sounds more like disco music on a Sega soccer game.

Recommendation: DJ Quik's 1992 song Jus Lyke Compton (featuring Gus' Shoes):

StL comes up in the second stanza, about 1:20 in.

On a side note, it's really something to think about how far Downtown has gone, with Washington Avenue being the site of part of the video to represent Compton. Far different today, and for the better, but I'll always remember Gus' being at Tucker.

The best St Louis rap songs ever are "St Louis Chick" by a rapper named Averb and a song named "East Stank Louis" by a rapper named "Stank."

The video for "St Louis Chick" is low budget, but it's a good song. The East Stank Louis video actually looks like a professionally made video.

^ East Stank Louis: damn good song, and a terrifyingly good video.

All those visuals of the burned-out and collapsing videos, plus the lyrics for being raised in the sewers, are very real and sadly so. It only re-emphasizes to me that the future of StL, including Downtown, are forever tied in to the future of EStL. With the news today of 18 firefighters being layed off because there's barely any budget, I have hope that people see the needs that exist and work to address them. That said, we've got a long, long way to go.

That's really funny that you mention East Stank Louis. I picked up that guy's mixtape in Vintage Vinyl because it was sitting on the counter. My friends and I always thought his name was Block Boy $hit. I guess that was the name of the album. Anyway, our favorite song was called Cup Full of Brown. It had a genius line... "I gotta cup full of brown but it ain't no Coca Cola."

Haha never thought anyone else had actually heard of that guy.

That statement could be applied to almost anything involving rap in my opinion.
