Anyone knows what's going on at the SW corner of Ann and McNair? It was forever a boarded up "Full Gospel Assembly" and now, in a matter of weeks, it looks great and appears dangerously like a restaurant or retail or a coffee shop. The retail space on the bottom has been fixed properly and retained. It's a miracle! Great job whoever you are!

Wow, I'm going to do a drive by tonight to check it out. This sounds encouraging. What about that really nice building at Ann and Indiana. I've seen a dumpster out in the street for awhile. That would be great if something is going on there. Also, has anyone noticed the Peat Wollaeger "eye" murals on the long abandoned store front on Jefferson in McKinley Heights (south of Fritanga)? I wonder if something is on the horizon there?

Mark, the building at Ann and Indiana is being redeveloped into residential by Cherokee Street's Jason Deem.

It's talked about in this interview:

Thanks for the tip. I missed that. Fantastic news for McKinley Heights.
One of South Side Spaces's upcoming projects will be the Kinloch Telephone Exchange Building, one of four switching stations in St. Louis at the turn of the century where operators would patch calls through. Once complete, the building will be repurposed as residential space with drive-in parking from the alley.

^ I had seen that but thought this was in NoCo.... there loss, our gain I guess! And speaking of rehab of former telephone buildings, great news for Midtown with the 70 unit market rate apts. planned for the Beaumont Building on Locust just west of Jefferson.

Great news for McKinley Heights. More residential will hopefully mean more drive for business in that stretch of Jefferson.

Makes me tear my hair out that this region isn't considering fixed transit for Jefferson, Grand, etc. We could really explode things.

Saint Louis Neighborhood Development blog has nice before and after pics of the building... very nice!

btw, they did a massive website makeover; I kinda liked the old look but oh well.
