Macy's at Alton Square is closing. I grew up near Alton so it is sad to see that store go. They have done a decent job keeping that mall open and bringing in random tenants but it is still pretty empty these days.

A movie theater is going into the old Sears here. It will be the first movie theater in Alton since the one there closed right after Titanic left theaters.
