Seems like this project has been mentioned before but I can't find it; anyway, a mixed-use renovation of what's been an underutilized building on the NW corner of Pershing and Union is underway.

I remember that movie place too! Seems like a great little corner for an ice cream shop or something.
When I was spending a lot of time in that neighborhood I used to always envision that place as a classic neighborhood pub for Deb Place. A cross between Riley's and Dressels. A big classic bar, lots of wood, decent food, good for conversation but also to watch a game or some live music. A large but tasteful vertical sign facing Union would be nice.
Out of curiosity, as I haven't been over there recently, what are the businesses just to the west of that space before the residential starts up?
This also reminds me I've been meaning to go to the Kitchen Sink for a long time and still have not.
^ Maybe that neighborhood pub could be called Deb's Place....
I think a salon just opened up in one of the storefronts to the west, which I believe is part of the property. Looks like a dry cleaner is in the other spot.
