Design was revised to remove glass feature on Washington Avenue and do away with the orange metal on the retail spaces. These are likely casualties of increased material prices. Massing and unit count remains the same. From the SLDC planroom (bids due back July 13th).

Drilling permit issued but no drilling going on
Construction permit still under considerations
and unpaid 2021 tax bill sits at $20,000+ (17,000+3,000 interest/penalty)

I like the modern, dark, boxy aesthetic, but I really wish we could start putting overhangs on windows (and roofs)...like, for the planet and stuff. I guess architects forgot that you can include overhangs and still have your building look more or less the same, if desired. Or, make them an interesting part of the design?
From an energy conservation obsessive like myself, the idea of putting black, metal sheathing on an unshaded, south-facing wall is heart attack inducing. At least all these new buildings have light-colored roofs, but still.
Awnings and parapets on buildings are practically the equivalent of street-trees placed along our streets and sidewalks.
That's it, I propose a new building code requirement. Overhangs required on all new buildings! Join the movement! Who's with me!?
Nobody? Well, ok.
Rant over that is probably better suited for another thread.

Maybe Mr. King can post an update but I don’t think this project is moving forward any time soon, if at all- the lot is currently used as parking for the construction workers working on 1800 Washington, one of the construction workers said 1800 should be done by end of year but that’s a tight timeline

Approved permit is still at city hall but it will be marked as abandoned soon since nobody has come and paid the $210,000 permit fee
Property taxes for 2021 still not paid nor 2022 (but still have 2 days)
I’d say this project is dead

Really hope something else pops up. This is a great lot for something newdbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 28, 2022Approved permit is still at city hall but it will be marked as abandoned soon since nobody has come and paid the $210,000 permit fee

Also reminds me I still need to pay my person properly tax
It’s not dead. Did it hit some bumps? Yes. I will post if it is officially dead.

Some movement; they’ve now at least paid all taxes,
the building permit by policy expired after 6months on 12/10 and it was cancelled by the city and or developer on 12/19

Developer canceled the drilling permit last week and the building permit on 3/22/2023.
The property was sold for $2.5M in April to 1801 WASHINGTON SPE LLC
Seems like a good sign - the mailing address of that LLC is Midas.quincunx wrote: ↑Aug 04, 2023The property was sold for $2.5M in April to 1801 WASHINGTON SPE LLC
