Missed this until today, probably because our media doesn't want to lose it's narrative, but this will be very good for the region and will hopefully ensure that the crime declines we are seeing stay down and don't come back up.

Once Cara gets in office I would like to see a audit of the recent crime stats. I'm sure it would be eye opening.

lol. 😂

Yeah because the police union and its officers who hate the mayor wouldnt have said anything for 4 years that the crimes their officers are putting in the system aren’t showing up in the data.   No hospitals would have said wait a minute, city is reporting shootings are down but we are not seeing less gun shot victims.

I am not all that smart but when competition has this little critical thinking skill, it’s very easy to move ahead

I’ve never heard anyone provide even one shred of evidence that our crime numbers are incorrect. Very frustrating.

People pretend that it’s harder to report a crime today than 1995 and they also pretend that people don’t report crime just in the current year and that is not something that didn’t happen at the same rate as before

You also have degenerates like Jane Dueker who claimed that Colin Browns homicide wasn’t counted because she didn’t see it on the SLMPD crime maps (the reason it wasn’t on crime maps
With info is become he was a minor but the homicide was still part of the daily homicide data)

It would be nice if a leader (whether Spencer or Jones) could explain why the vast majority of homicide reductions have come from the north patrol.

The most likely answer is “we don’t know” which doesn’t really instill confidence. I assume that’s why no one is talking about it.

Jane Dueker is a nutcase. I see some of her posts on X & it’s nothing but anti city negativity. Talking about someone who should just leave the region completely. It’s beyond nauseating.

Longform piece in the PD chronicling the rise and fall of a major cocaine smuggling ring in North St. Louis. It honestly reads like a season of The Wire. Anthony Jordan to me reads like a serial killer, and I guess after being convicted of 9 homicides he qualified as a prolific one.

That was a crazy story Ebsy, this low crime streak we have been on lately is definitely brought to us in part by that bust

Meanwhile, in New Mexico, the governor has declared a state of emergency and ordered the National Guard to help fight crime in Albuquerque.

Uh oh... Rumors of multiple buried bodies discovered on a drug seizure. Delor and Dewey. Police at site with a backhoe.

Looking at satellite imagery. Looks like the yard got progressively worse with garbage (hoarder level) the last two years. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Does St. Louis County Police have a new livery for their police cars?

Just saw one parked at City Hall. It's a new Explorer, the font looks a little different, there's a tan stripe across the top instead of a red stripe. Couldn't get a pic though.

Anyone else seen cars like that?

Was in office downtown Tuesday then drinks after with some out of towners mostly from Philly and Boston. A few from the St. Louis always mentioning crime and you will get shot and downtown sucks, normal stuff. Out of towners be like "everything seems fine, seems nice enough".

Out of towners agreed that it's just normal hood stuff you need look out for, pretty much anywhere in America, possibly elevated in places like St. Louis where hood stuff is more likely. Everything is understood by anyone with any brains at all.

It's almost exclusively suburbanites and rural people who actually think St. Louis or cities of any kind are warzones.

I think every city has it's Debbie Downers. .

But in other cities those people are more likely to be mocked and less likely to be given a mouthpiece.

Here we take too many of these people seriously.

Because our regional wealth creation system is built on sucking wealth from the core.

We must fill everyone’s head with propaganda about the city or else they may move there and take their capital with them.
