Not to mention Bayer has its US HQ here
- 991
They're Private / 100% employee-owned. Another example of a employee-owned Fortune 500 list include is Publix.
^^^ Bayer's US HQ is in Whippany, NJ. Their global Crop Science HQ is in St. Louis.
I don't believe being public is a requirement for listing on the F500? I thought anyone can get on the F500 if you provide your revenue information to Fortune. Most private companies just don't release that data, hence they're not included on the list.

Emerson spinoff company takes on Copeland name, prepares for growth

Copeland has around 18,000 employees worldwide, with manufacturing sites in Asia, Europe and North America. There are around 300 to 400 Copeland employees at the Ferguson campus, working in areas that support the company's global operations, like human resources, finance and IT. "Our operations here — though relatively small in that big population of 18,000 — are critical," Shuster said.
Asked whether Copeland is likely to remain on the Ferguson campus, Shuster said the headquarters site there is an important site for the company. And, he noted, he recently bought a house in the St. Louis area.

The Chesterfield-based public company said Tuesday it has entered into a merger agreement with an Amsterdam-based firm in a deal that would create a new, combined company topping $100 billion in annual sales.
“The combined company will operate under the Bunge name and have its headquarters in St. Louis, a news release said.” Rotterdam, Amsterdam, “will be an important commercial location in the future of the combined company.”
Let’s hope they expect to travel frequently between Rotterdam and St. Louis. Someone get BA or KLM on the phone!!

^^Great to see the HQ of the combined corporation will be in STL!

This is as big a business event STL has had positively in 10 years. This will be a huge entity and I can’t help but think more international flights will come out of this.

Where does this put Bunge on the Fortune 500 list if the deal is finalized? Would this add a company to the STL list?
I did not see Bunge on any of the lists that show 7 companies in the F500 for this year.

Great news!
With a global merger/headquarters like this and shooting to be global leader in Geospatial, I wonder what it will take to move STL from Gamma+ to Beta-

Every little bit helps.

I’m sure Bunge/Viterra will be a hot topic. Hopefully folks from BA are on the VIP list.

The 7 being: Reinsurance (Chesterfield), Jones (Town and Country), Centene (Clayton), Graybar (Clayton), Olin (Clayton), Emerson (Clayton), Ameren (Downtown)addxb2 wrote: ↑Jun 13, 2023JaneJacobsGhost wrote:And reminder that Bunge isn’t on the list because it’s legal domicile is Bermuda.DogtownBnR wrote:Where does this put Bunge on the Fortune 500 list if the deal is finalized? Even if Bunge, Reinsurance would move just to Clayton..that would already be so much better. Jones downtown would be magnificent but I think that ship has sailed for at least another 10 years.
^ RGA’s Chesterfield buildings are newer than most Edward Jones office buildings I think. I doubt they’re going anywhere…pre pandemic there were proposals for a third building on that campus. That ship likely has sailed though.
Bunge’s custom built Chesterfield HQ opened in 2017.
Would be nice to see some satellite offices further in. But I think that would be the best we could hope for from the West County HQs.
I still have an (unfounded) hunch Enterprise ends up somewhere downtown eventually…

How is Edward Jones on the list at 333 with $11b in revenue but not Enterprise which has 30b or WWT with $12b? All 3 are non publicly traded companies
- 1,794
Because EJ makes certain disclosures to the SEC that Enterprise and WWT choose not to make. I’m sure the why is more nuanced than that but that’s the gist.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023How is Edward Jones on the list at 333 with $11b in revenue but not Enterprise which has 30b or WWT with $12b? So this is really the List of the "500 biggest companies that make certain disclosures".
Yeah, Kinda like Chicago not reporting it’s crimes stats to the FBI.

I think the publisher would prefer “500 biggest companies with verifiable revenue data” but yeah basically.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023So this is really the List of the "500 biggest companies that make certain disclosures".

It costs time/money to prepare those disclosures; companies aren't gonna do it just for Fortune 500 cred.JaneJacobsGhost wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023Because EJ makes certain disclosures to the SEC that Enterprise and WWT choose not to make. RGA is full of white flighters, they're more likely to move to Wentzville than to Clayton.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023^ RGA’s Chesterfield buildings are newer than most Edward Jones office buildings I think. There are hundreds of employees working at RGA in Chesterfield. Your comment generalizing the entire workforce is unfounded and unhelpful.MarkHaversham wrote:RGA is full of white flighters, they're more likely to move to Wentzville than to Clayton.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023^ RGA’s Chesterfield buildings are newer than most Edward Jones office buildings I think. I don’t think they are moving period, but there is no way they are more likely to move to Wentzville over Clayton.

I think FBI barely gets 50% compliance with that. Most Dept just report it on their own sites.shadrach wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023Yeah, Kinda like Chicago not reporting it’s crimes stats to the FBI.

Just not cool Haversham. The amount times a year RGA gets wooed by the Chicago’s, Dallas’, Atlanta’s to move their HQ is astounding. And they choose to stay. And they do great charitable work here. My goodness.
You really need to move to Cuba dude, and not the one down I-44.

I don't see what white flight has to do with charity, or why I should move to Cuba because I don't think RGA put their offices in Chesterfield and St. Charles by accident.whitherSTL wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023Just not cool Haversham. Dude, my neighbors moved to STL to work at RGA. Their coworkers, too. We're all in the City. They commute and work from home. You flat out don't know what you're talking about. Quit trying to be provocative on unfounded stuff.MarkHaversham wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023I don't see what white flight has to do with charity, or why I should move to Cuba because I don't think RGA put their offices in Chesterfield and St. Charles by accident.whitherSTL wrote: ↑Jun 14, 2023Just not cool Haversham.
