That should be fine.

Do we know when a new proposal for the building will be available? What is the purpose of this meeting? And are we going to discuss the South Grand McDonalds issue again?

^The channel 2 reports said about 2 weeks. This should definitely be a meeting to discuss both projects.

Yeah, as in the other post, I think we should give 50/50 time to each project, and we should extend the meeting to 9 if possible.

Time to kick it up everyone. We have a lot of work to do. I propose our next meeting:

Thursday, March 30, 7:00pm

Coffee Cartel @ Euclid & Maryland

Objective: We need to rally the business owners who may not even realize what potential a new tower at Lindell & Euclid holds in store. I know for a fact that Pete Rotshchild and Ted Koplar are supporters of the project, and I'm sure there are many, many more. The CRD is more determined than ever to stop this thing, and we need to stay focused.

April 2 is a Sunday, I think we want to go with March 30. I already made the change. I think we need to write up two agendas, one for the CWE, and one for McDonalds.

More about the McDonalds Issue (second topic of upcoming meeting):

Summary:

A group of citizens are opposing the Opus Tower in the Central West End for completely erroneus reasons. We formed the St. Louisans for Urban Progress to support this project, as well as, proper Urban Design and Progress throughout our City. We wish to preserve the historical architecture of St. Louis, while promoting developments which challenge the limit of the Urban Landscape, as well as, the traditional status quo. St. Louis was once the 4th Largest City in the United States; with proper guidance, innovative development, and activism, we can achieve this again!

Note: I posted that on Facebook and Myspace, which reaches about 300 of my friends in the St. Louis area.

Everyone, if you can be there, be there. I'll be there.

And I think we can successfully get through two topics. Here are some preliminary thoughts:

What is the next step for the Lindell discussion? We have presented the argument, gathered the troops, and we need the next step. Which direction are we headed?

What is the first step in the So. Grand McDonalds discussion? There has already been neighborhood associations that have gotten involved. But perhaps our job will be to increase the heat on the Board of Alderman and McDonalds/Pyramid corps. Think about what you think our next step is, and we can discuss and figure it out.

Any upcoming STLUP meetings scheduled?

I haven't had a chance to meet face to face with much of the group, and I thought with all of the recent activity it would be nice to get together for a meeting.

We also have to consider the fact that Randy just had eye surgery, and probably will be out a little longer. I haven't heard from him, so there is no telling. I think he should also be included.

So I don't think there is much of a rush. There are those of us who are working on the McDonalds/Florida Recall issue.
