Just throwing this out -- what if the cities in North St. Louis County merged to form a new new city I'll call New Town St. Louis. This new city could be bigger than St. Louis, and become the natural leader for major regional activities in the metro area. Things like stadiums, orchestra halls, theaters, and festivals. This could really be popular among the residents, and could get the ball rolling on additional consolidation.
