I noticed, as I was watching a young couple sit on the stoop of their newish townhome at McDonald and Gustine on a beautiful day, that the nice looking 4 plex across the street at 38XX Mcdonald was being ripped down. It was one of those say what? moments. Anyone know why?

I guess this is the wrong part of the southside room. Personally I don't like the two sections.

I should have said demolition not demolition(s). It looks like the 4-plex was cut in half (west side demolished), and reduced to a 2-plex that appears to be getting rehabbed. It might be getting the 2 to 1 treatment. I've not seen anything like this in St. Louis, I am guessing the interior, now exterior wall is going to get cleaned up and punched through with windows, we will see how that looks...weird rehab.

^I believe someone posted that there was a problem with sinkholes. This would explain the half and half treatment. Not sure if you saw that before the posts were deleted or not.
