I can't see that selling for $400,000. Maybe $200,000? $250,000 in a bidding war? it needs like $300,000+ worth of work to restore it to its old grand look (and that's just cosmetics & hoping its without any structural issues) You can get away with just spending $100,000 in renovation but that's like putting a Chevy Malibu engine into a Ferrari
^ Exactly my thoughts. Used to walk past it quite often, seemed to be in a state of disrepair inside for years. My guess is that it needs a lot of $$$. Wouldn't buy it for that price.
^How is that a house? Holy crap! Yeah, I would very much enjoy jamming in there at stupid hours of the morning. I try not to get too ridiculous as is, as there's still an outside chance I could wake my wife, but in that place . . . Of course if there's enough stops on that thing it could change the math. I'm sort of curious when the last time anyone played it was, or if the pipes are even playable. I have my doubts, but I'd love to be wrong. (I halfway suspect they're just facade pipes. Even in churches with real organs the pipes you see are often just for pretty, and less fancy ones in the back do all the actual work.) Anyway, if I had that kind of scratch I can see where that house would be a heck of an investment. Even if the pipes don't speak the console looks nice. It all looks nice, really. Met a fellow named Martin Ott a while back. Something like that would definitely make it worth inviting him over for dinner. Heck, that might even get him to accept. Yes. I could totally groove in a place like that.
