I saw that new traffic lights are being installed on Maryland to turn left or right on Kingshighway and also noticed that those huge lamps are gone. Will they be reinstalled after the lights are installed?

Good idea to put lights in right there. That's a dangerous intersection to turn left in.

I think it's also a symbol of the long-awaited renaissance of one of the most neglected blocks in the CWE. That block was mismanaged for something on the order of 30 years.

Okay, the lamps have been put back in place. Also, everyone will be glad to know that not only did we get new traffic lights but they came with complementary cameras.

The cameras are likely ones to control the signals like the sensors in the street. No worries from them. Pretty much standard issue these days.

^ That's what I figured. A case could be made for red light enforcement cameras at Kingshighway and Lindell though.

^No doubt. I used to drive that intersection every day, and let me tell you, it was scary!

A case could be made for red-light cameras at every intersection along Kingshighway -- from 64 to Delmar.

^ I can't argue with that. The same holds true for other intersections along Kingshighway- Southwest Avenue, along with Arsenal and Chippewa streets come to mind for starters.

i was at kingshwy and McRee (b/t Manchester and 44) the other night and noticed a series of flashing lights going off as a taxi cab sped through a red light. it was the first time i noticed a traffic camera going off.

Putting red lights purpose is to become the highway more secure for everyone. However, some motorist do not consider that reason as a valid one instead they think that putting red light camera is just a way to raise more money for the government instead of a communities security for the bad guys. Get a new car to buy so you can avoid tickets.
