I've gotten that ad too, which is really odd because Bollinger "indefinitely suspended" development of the B2 in January - shortly before those ads started popping up.

Why advertise a vehicle that won't see the light of day for years, if ever, and for which you're actively returning deposits from investors who're already committed?

Perhaps an 'Urban Auto Theory' thread is appropriate?  I am an urbanist and a passionate car enthusiast (albeit mostly vicariously, as I don't have a ton of time or funds to spend on cars).  At first glance, those may seem at odds, but I think there's room for both. Am I in the minority here?

^ i mean, one can appreciate cars from an engineering perspective. one can appreciate an F-15 Eagle from an engineering perspective as well—that doesn't mean every consumer should own one. there just isn't a reality where urbanism (or the ecological health of the planet for that matter) and large-scale automobile consumerism are compatible.

Is this thread the new home for proposed F1 courses in the city? 😀

Yeah, I 100% agree. At the same time, mass transit can't be the only option for every consumer either as this country is constituted. I know I've gotta drive to get to work and family, so as long as I'm driving I'd like to enjoy the drive.

In fact, I'd sell to those firmly in the camp of driving around that they should be some of the strongest advocates of mass transit systems for people who don't want to drive a private car. That's fewer people on the roads for them, and those getting off of the road are the ones who didn't want to drive, so they're likely some of the, erm, less talented drivers anyway. 🙂

UrbanSTL has been an advocate of well-managed auto traffic for a while now - #HealTheGrid. Auto traffic can be encouraged in the city; it just needs to be designed to work alongside other forms of traffic. Too often policy has been to build streets for cars to drive fast at the expense of pedestrians, bikes, busses (and streetcars before them) etc..
