SLDC released an urgent RFQ for Architectural and Preliminary Engineering Services Marshall Elementary School.

According to the proposal, The Mallinckrodt site will host the initial phase of the MLK Innovation District, conceived to create a flexible advanced manufacturing production space at Marshall Elementary School and serve as a resource center for entrepreneurs and jobseekers in the MLK district and surrounding neighborhoods. Later phases of the MLK Innovation District will include capitalizing on momentum from the Economic Empowerment Center to provide affordable brick-and-mortar locations for startup businesses and housing for the workforce and entrepreneurs. All of this will be accomplished along the historically underserved MLK corridor to create a vibrant foundation for the revival of the surrounding neighborhoods.
This is all related to Greater STLs application to the EDAs Build Back Better Regional Challenge. St. Louis was one of 50-60 applicants out of 500+ to move forward with phase II. If successful, St. Louis could receive up to $100m to develop the manufacturing center and MLK Innovation District.
