Vacant church complex at Lafayette and Mississippi to be purchased and renovated. It will become full time home for Lafayette Prep Academy. This is huge.

Not really. We really needed this school downtown and it hurts to lose it. There are a lot of Loft dwellers that sent their kids there.

Starting with the '17-'18 school year parents can just stick their younger kids on Metrolink and have them walk a block from the Cortex station to Stix ECC. "Here's your backpack, honey. And your Metro ticket. Have a great day!"

Free Range Metrolink kids!

Not trying to be troll-like here or question your parenting or anything like that, but just curious if a lot of the people here would feel comfortable letting their younger kids wait at some or all of the Metrolink stations. I don't have kids and have even less parenting skills, but I can't help to think, man, there's no way I'd drop say a 10 year old off at the station in front of Scottrade to let them catch a train.

^ Stix ECC only goes to 2nd grade so that was a bit of a joke. But I probably would be open to Metrolink to School around 5th or 6th grade. I might be arrested, but reasonable Free Range is desperately needed in this country.

Based on the name of the organization, I'm assuming a permanent home in Lafayette Square was always their plan. That makes it hard for me to be too upset about them leaving downtown, whether it's a loss for the area or not.

Plenty of downtowners sent their kids there. Consider the opportunity cost. I was told they wanted to stay downtown but the city doesn't view downtown as a actual neighborhood and didn't cooperate.
