Froyo has closed its' CWE location. Brennan's will be moving in the first quarter of the new year and Culpeppers announced it will be closing its' CWE restaurant. This corner property is a key cornerstone of the CWE business district economic vitality and interest. I hope the new building owner has great plans outlined as we're losing a couple CWE staples at this intersection. Anyone have further intel?

I think this is a more appropriate thread, or change title of the other.
I hope Rex does something good in the way of retail on the first floor here, losing one of the best strip of storefronts in the city to something that does not interact with the street would suck. The makeup store across the street on what was one of the better patio corners in the neighborhood already makes mw wince when I go by.
I agree. It's going to be interesting to watch the next few years of evolution on Euclid. . . It would be cool to see Brennan's move into the space formerly occupied by Llywelyn's.
I’m not too concerned about Euclid’s strength as a retail corridor. 316 apartment’s are going to come online with One Hundred. At least another 346 are in the pipeline. All within a block of Euclid. Meanwhile the medical center is as big as ever and Euclid has the largest retail anchor in its history - Whole Foods.
Will some of the most prime locations be more bars/restaurants, fitness studios and national retailers than the kitschy shops and antique stores of yore? Sure. But to some extent that’s a result of broader trends and it being a victim of its own success.
An expanded Chess Center leaves plenty of other retail opportunities for businesses new and old. And for those more mom & pop shops looking for lower rents there is still most of Olive/Gas Light Square that desperately needs tenants. Still plenty of opportunities for the neighborhood to maintain and actually further it’s granularity and diversity of businesses.

^Was wondering how long it'd take before the plans went public.
