I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this topic but wanted to know if anyone had heard about this.

My brother is a commercial real estate agent in the area and has been contacted by the pilates/yoga studio in this building (in between Hi-Pointe theatre and drive-in) to find a new space for their studio because the owner of their current building has told them that Hi-Pointe Drive-in is trying to acquire the building for extra parking. I hope this isn't true because it would be such a waste of a nice building, but also want to know if anyone else has heard about this possible demo? Thanks!

Wow. If true, this one belongs in the Dumb Hall of Fame. Not a chance the neighborhood or the city would allow it to happen.

Reminds me of the demo across the street from Olympia on McCausland. That one still bothers me. So pointless!

Unless they propose to build a short residential tower on top of 10 stories of parking.

Hi Pointe drive-in isn't even that good.

Why are people so afraid of walking a couple of blocks? Or maybe the better question, why do business owners feel like customers are afraid of it?

I thought Hi-Pointe was pretty cool when I went, but I don't support allowing them to destroy a building for surface parking.

Hi-Pointe is good. Mac's and Stacked are better. Don't let them tear down the building. There is plenty of parking on Hi-Pointe Pl and Ethel

I can't imagine that would be cost effective for them. Real estate in that area has to be high value. What might be more realistic is shared parking for all business in the district. It can be a challenge when going to the Cheshire or the movies.

Almost needless to say that under no circumstances can this building be torn down for a parking lot.
