Driving downtown yesterday evening, I realized that some form of excavating and ground work was going on at the Northwest corner of Tucker and Choteau. It was a bit hard to tell in the dark, but I think I saw light posts installed as if it were to become a parking lot. Does anyone have any information on this?

The lot has been empty for years.

Makes sense. It's owned by the Blanks building.

I looked up the permit on geo st louis and it said it was going to be a glorious parking lot.

Unbelievable. Who is going to park there?

Could it be part of plans for later infill elsewhere on the large parcel or does it seem to take up the whole thing?

Parking is terrible at that gas station at 14th, so thank goodness for this.

Anyway... is there anyone in the Blanks Building? Seriously, what is this for?

I thought I read on here—but maybe it was on Twitter—that this was a parking lot, likely for the Checkmark employees (Purina's in-house ad agency). They're in that building across 14th street. That one that used to be a beautiful bank but was given a shell and is now an ugly brick box.
