Just wondering how close the Elm Point Levee breach is to New Town.....

The P-D is reporting the area bounded by Elm, 270 & Truman Blvd is flooding as a result of the breach, and according to Google Maps, Elm turns into New Town Blvd at 370.

I've heard that New Town itself is not in a flood plain, but are the nearby access roads threatened?

As of this morning, when I drove through that area on the way to work, the roads were fine. There are some flooded roads further north by Smart Field, though. I went past New Town last night and it seemed fine.

This is from this morning's state emergency management agency report.

The Elm Point Levee in the City of St. Charles has breached. Deer Field Mobile Home Park are the only residents affected. They are not flooded, but isolated. A flash flood warning is in effect. St. Charles City has issued a voluntary evacuation advisory for residents in the affected area.
