I happened to be in the neighborhood this morning and snapped a couple of pics.  I don't want to be rude, but I really wish we could see some more adventurous architecture and development, especially when being billed as "modern and luxury".  I feel like this one was a missed opportunity .  Of course, I suppose what gets built is what the market and the neighborhood demands.

I agree. Nothing special about these with those rent prices. $1200 for studio, $1575 for one bedroom, and $2300 for two bedroom. I’m not sure how leasing is going because every time I go by the balconies and units facing the street are empty.

I will say there isn’t any other Class A multi family in Webster so I’m glad there’s finally some (as most apartments in this area are catered to students and older condition) especially for a higher end “suburb”. It adds some density too, as population has been stagnant in the city. The downtown Webster proposal will add more modern feel than this, hopefully...

It definitely looks a lot cheaper / bland than the renderings I saw.  Simple changes would have made this look better - going with a darker brick a more grey or creme color instead of pure white, and then stucco instead of the siding.  This building is not going to age well either.

I expect that if Webster University puts rules in place like other universities regarding housing that these will fill up some.

This project is incredibly disappointing.

I drove right by it a couple of weeks ago and didn't even notice it. So I guess you could say that it fits right in to Webster Groves.

^Heh! Well, that's good, I suppose. At least it will blend in?

There's lots of quality architecture in Webster.  Right next door of the Elle is a beautiful small historic church with a newer mid-century structure next to it.  And just a few blocks down the street on Lockwood, downtown Webster, has a nice little street grid with a number of historic, well built buildings.
