Saw this on Street View

I'll admit, I thought it was an old sign and a long abandoned building, but apparently this is a biker bar you can just drive right into. I'm not much for bars, but it's a unqiue concept I guess. Use an old shell of a building like that. I guess the hollowed out thing is supposed to be tough and weathered like the bikers. Anybody been to this bar or know the history of the building?

Thanks.

Here's the saloon's website http://www.shadyjackssaloon.com/

Edit, found it
When a fire gutted one bay of the building, biker bar Shady Jack's Cafe (1440 N. Broadway) simply cleaned out the space and now uses it as a patio.

Great place for a beer after work. Even for the non-biker.

Its a biker bar, but they're all very friendly, and welcome all types of folks. They've got plenty of food offerings, too.

Great place. Check it out.

I've stopped in a few times after riding my bike (bicycle) on the river trail. My friends and I rode our bikes right inside and parked them next to the motorbikes. I have to say we were a bit hesitant going in the first time, but glad we went. Very friendly people working there and no biker bar fights broke out while we were there!

Very cool bar. I've been there twice and both times the customers and staff were very friendly.

Agreed. Great place, and if Shady Jack himself is there you'll get to hear some great stories. Very gregarious guy.

Hells yes I have been to Shady Jacks! We (the rollergirls) jello wrestled each other for a Lymphoma and Leukemia benny there last summer and I have also been there multiple other times just for drinks. There is a table in the middle of the bar with a stripper pole on it- which often results in some crazy antics. Good times!

Looked at the website - this place looks great. I'm definitely going there this summer before a Cardinals game.

It's a wonderful place that is uniquely St. Louis: which is to say, dirt cheap food, crystallized decay, an appropriate dose of low brow, and all around good times.

Has anyone been to the new Ricardos in the 1400 block of North Broadway (former Shady Jack's IIRC). I've been hearing a lot of good buzz about it and would be great for it to be a restaurant destination on the near north side.

Oh wow! Looks like a high school friend of mine revived his parents' restaurant.

I went to the soft opening.  Went pretty well, food was good, really neat space.  Tommy has been a long time friend of mine since college...great to see him and his family bring it back.
