Said establishment looks to be opening between Quizno's and Curry in a Hurry downtown. Hopefully it will be nicer than most DT C-Stores.
Interesting.
You know what I think would be a killer business for a C-store? Donuts i.e. doughnuts....not just a couple few, but by the dozen like Donut drive-in. I know so many groups in our building that have donut days but people are always driving around to get them.

We need Dunkin Donuts back in St. Louis. Why are there like 5000 DD in Chicago?
That or a Krispy Kreme downtown would do killer business. (As long as the KK made the donuts on site: not like the now-closed Clayton location which had them trucked in.)

I saw this the other day and think it has great potential. I would LOVE to have a market (if it's done right) like this one might be. I wish it was more of the open air type but welcome it none the less.

Sounds cool..I will walk by today. Don't have my camera though, maybe tomorrow if people are interested.

Please never say this again. Living in New Jersey, a land with far to many Dunkin Donuts, all I can say is that the donuts are subpar at best and nasty at worst. Give me Schnucks donuts any day.

My dream would be to start a donut shop that sells Dunkin' butternut donuts, Krispy Kreme chocolated glazed and 1904 long johns.

Dunkin Donuts is a coffee shop now, anyways, so I would love to have that as an option to the Starbucks at 6th and Olive.
One of my friends is a franchisee in the Northeast but went to school here. She says Duncan has plans to expand in the St. Louis area, and downtown specifically. Dunno about timeframes, but yeah...

While not as good as a donut shop like The Donut Stop (Lemay and Telegraph), Dunkin is infinitely better than Krispy Kreme, which I hesitate to even call a donut.

I'd heard rumors the guy who owns the St. Louis region DD franchise is holding it "hostage". He's not required to open stores and DD corporate is afraid to face him or won't pay his price. Is that true?
innov8ion wrote:No clue. Perhaps I can ask my friend if she knows what's up.
Thanks.

I like Krispy Kreme, but I can feel my arteries clogging up as a I chew.

^ The DD's in the Boston area are great. They usually look pretty good as well - they fit in well with other buildings/surrounding neighborhood. Let's hope we get something similar if DD comes to StL.
olive express mart is the new home of locust bakery, the last tenant remaining at the st louis centre. i really hope jay makes the best of the extra space.
I heard that this place is the convenience store that currently operates on 7th Street in St. Louis Centre. Can anyone confirm?

I think the Gateway Grizzlies need to open up a restaurant downtown

You die when you eat it.

Well, that was specifically the place I was referring to in my earlier post in which I noted that most DT C-Stores are horrendous.
That looks delicious, except I don't see any bacon... People that think this is gross need to grow a pair!
as i said in my last post, this IS the convenience store at the st louis centre.
