Couldn't find another post about this place, sorry if it is a duplicate. I tried Sage in Soulard today for lunch http://www.sageinsoulard.com and it was fantastic. The decor was nice (although I'm not a fan of the faux stone accents), the menu was extensive, the waiter was attentive, and a chef stopped to ask if we were enjoying ourselves. The dessert was really fun. The waiter brought a small tray of desserts in shot glasses (cheesecake, peach pie, several others) for $1.99 each and you could take as many as you like. I usually don't get dessert with lunch, but it was a perfectly small portion. Great idea.



It is located at 11th and Lynch direclty across from Anheuser Busch. Has anyone else tried this place?

^ You're right. Unfortunately, as Joe Bonwich pointed out in another thread on this forum, there's no online menu yet.

Weird, I just went here on Saturday afternoon. A friend and I went on the brewery tour. We had about an hour and a half between the time we got there and our tour time, so we decided to check this place out. Decent interior. Your kind of standard "chic urban bistro" type interior. Oddly, they were playing like 90s flashback music. Service was eager to the point of being instrusive (which I hate), but we were the only ones there, with the excpetion of a few stragglers from a departed wedding party. We had an appetizer, "Thee minis" I think it was called. They were basically mini burgers, but instead of hamburger meat, one was a grilled chicken, another a filet (best one), the other was a crab cake (worst, too sweet). All in all, a pretty decent experience. The server mentioned something about the tap being donated or made by A-B, and how it's supposed to be the cat's pajamas. My draught wasn't all that great.

If they would bother to put their menu on their web site, I could decide if it's worth checking out or not.

Sage for lunch is great. I don't know if they change their menu for dinner, but at noon I thought the food was wonderful and the selection was impressive. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices too. And we didn't experience the usual "kinks to work out" when you visit a new restaurant.

It's one of my favorite restaurants to open up in STL in recent years. Great patio too.
