Bastante-El Paisano

The old Bastante restaurant on Watson across from Biggies has reopened as a mexican place named El Paisano. I talked to the man who owns the building a few months back and said they had several locations in the county. Anybody been to one of them in the county? Any Good?

I've visited the city location; the food quality is similar to Chimichangas on South Grand, only it is priced slightly higher. I would recommend you check it out.

Isn't there another restaurant opening on the east side of Watson, right by Biggie's, as well? I thought I noticed what appeared to be a small new restaurant there when I drove by the other day.

Yeah, I think it's some sort of pasta place maybe. And it's right next door.

It's named Stellina pasta co. There is an opening soon sign in the window, looks like a nice place.

I went to the El Paisano on Watson a few weeks ago. It was very cool. The food was good and drinks were better. The best part was the mariachi band. I was there on a Friday night and they played right in the middle of the restaurant. Very cool addition to the neighborhood. I have not tried Stellina or KOKO. Anyone try those places? Opinions?

There's also an El Paisano in Northern Jefferson County off of Highway 30 (aka Gravois Road) next to the Shell Station and Jefferson County Library. It's comparable to El Maguey.

El Paisano was great. I had the chicken fajitas and split a cadillac margarita pitcher with a few people and walked away very full and happy.
