Who felt the earthquake last night?

I am currently in Seattle on business and coming home in a couple hours... I get a call from the woman saying that she woke up to our building shaking pretty strongly. At first I was thinking she must have had a crazy dream, so I told her to call 911... The lines were busy, but eventually got through and yep, it was an Earhquake.

Anyone else wake up to it?

I just happen to be up and I was like "is this whole building shaking?". I thought I was crazy but a friend called from Soulard freaking out. The whole building was MOVING.

Yes, I felt and woke up to it! I have felt earthquakes in California and Japan before, but it seems a bit different in a condo. The dog was unsettled... Prob a 4-5 on the Richter scale. I hear ambulance sirens in the background fairly constantly.

Is it sad, that the first thing I wanted to do was get on here and yell EARTHQUAKE!!! ?

MAGNITUDE 5.4 according to the news!

Now back to bed.

I was awake when it happened. Caught me off guard to say the least. I haven't felt tremors since moving to St. Louis 3 years ago. Looks like it was 128 miles east of here, magnitude 5.4.

I'm awake at the computer. The quake, there was a short pulse first (I think that's the P wave) then a larger shake a moment later (the S wave?). Rattled the windows like a storm wind.

Although it didn't freak me out as much as the 1st time - it still was a bit weird. The glass door was shaking in our bedroom and the dog was milling about...

My bed partner woke me up saying "Wake up, you're shaking the bed!" It was then that we realized it was actually a quake. Both of our dogs were upset, one barking and the other howling.

I heard on the tv news that pieces of concrete had fallen from an overpass on Kingshighway. No other damage reports yet. The news reports also said that the quake came in two waves, the second stronger than the first.

Getting ready for work now, humming words "I feel the earth move under my feet..."

My wife and I woke up, and I said "Is someone knocking on the wall?" in the apartment next to us. Wife says "I'm not sure."

We rolled over and went back to bed. Dogs never stirred.

The one night my daughter doesn't wake up at 3 a.m. for her feeding, we're awaken by an earthquake at 4:30.

I woke up just in time for the fun... actually, the cats bolted upright from a sound sleep and I knew something was wrong. Whammo! Two waves of pretty intense shaking in Dogtown. My first reaction was "Boy, I hope that was an earthquake and not the house."

Was awakened by a decent one-time shake but had no idea what it was. Just thought, that was weird and went back to sleep. Had I not seen the news this morning probably would not have given it a second thought. I'm on the 10th floor of a condo downtown.

My cat never even woke up. I walked out to the living room, told the cat she was fired and we're getting a dog. The cat gave me an "eff you" look and went right back to sleep.

My husband is out of town and the following were in bed with me: one dog, 3 kids, at least 1 cat. Not one of them woke up except me.

My chandeliers rattled and some dust fell from the bulbs into the shades. It felt like a mega fleet of bi-state buses going down the street.

I've got an all-brick Soulard house built circa 1859 and have been calling around about earthquake insurance. Seems that most will not underwrite an all-brick house. There's also a deductible so the first $25,000 would be out of my pocket anyway.

My house was rockin big time!

I woke up to my bed shaking and rattling. It took a few seconds to realize what was going on, and when I stepped onto the floor is was shaking too. I could hear the neighbors in the unit next to me say "What the f##k!!!" I was thinking it might get more intense and was about to dart to the door frame of my apartment, and then it stopped. Afterwords, everyone gathered in the hallway of my building and chattered about it for a while. Kind of cool how an event like this brings random people together at random hours. Ahh, city living.

Yep. I woke up. It was at about 4:20 am. We had another just a second ago. It lasted about 15 seconds.
