This place is first class all the way. Well-designed space, the decor isn't cheap, and the staff is friendly, pleasing to the eye, and seems very well-trained and professional (the way the Lumiere Place staff should be). I don't think anyone would have ever accused Jacque's of any of these things. Too bad SkyBox couldn't have gone into Lumiere Place itself, or one of the hotels. I think they complement each other really well, but as it stands right now, there is no easy way to get from one to the other.
BTW, the sidewalks and overall pedestrian environment on the Landing desperately need a major and complete renovation. You really have to watch every step when walking around the Landing or you'll end up with a broken ankle, or worse. And, how any female can navigate the Landing in high heels, I believe is one of the great mysteries of the universe. The lighting, cleanliness, and traffic flow all really suck the big one as well.
The first thing one notices about the Skybox Bar & Grill on Laclede's Landing are all the TVs — all flat screen, all high-definition, all large, and all 80-plus of them beaming throughout the sprawling venue.
There's even a TV at every urinal and in every bathroom stall.
It sounds like a bit much, but maybe you should expect nothing less from a sports bar backed by rapping heavyweight Nelly and sports stars Larry Hughes, Marshall Faulk and Darius Miles. Their banding together for Skybox makes it one of downtown's newest must-see destinations.

Those were TV cameras. They go to a large bank of TV monitors in Ohio where people watch urinals from all around the country all day and flush for you remotely when they see you are finished.
He was on the cover of the latest St. Louis Mag. mentioned that he has plans to build a hotel on top of Skybox. We'll see, but the guy has always thought big and kind of seems like what he touches turns to gold. He has been a great ambassador to St. Louis, so I am not sure why people give him $hit ^.
