I do too...but it really hurt if we lose it by a percentage point.

This is a big disappointment St. Louis once again has decided to be a second rate city. Metrolink will be a joke. Hopefully Obama helps us with some transportation funding.

It's going to fail.

I think most St. Louis Countians don't realize that the city and county need MetroLink.

Yep. Everything in St. Louis is two steps forward, one step back. We got a public transportation system, but we won't give it the funds to grow. Oh well.

So now we pray for federal funds?

I'm so pissed right now at this proposition failing. Proposition c passes but the citizens won't do their part. I'm so pissed.

...might be time to head for greener pastures. missouri can have its rural areas and its 18th rank in population and 36th rank in median income.

I'm so pissed off.

Why doesn't the Metro East pay for part of this?

We may get lucky based on the winner of the presidential election.

This is a very disappointing result. Our suburban friends still just don't get it.

IL gives more money to Metro then Missouri.......

PostNov 05, 2008#16

At least IL realizes we need public transportation!

From BND:
To deal with problems caused by reduced Metro bus and light rail service, the St. Clair County Transit District might pay for some trains to run after 8 p.m. to help St. Clair County commuters, said Bill Grogan, managing director of the transit district.

But so far, that idea remains only tentative, he added.

This is frustrating, aggravating, and thoroughly terrible.

Guess I'll be buying a second car to drive to the airport once a week. Wonderful.

I hope these people love their suburbs with their 4 cars for 4 people and crap. Argh.

i'm furious. not only did those idiots who went on that counter-suit rampage contribute to this , the little sling of stories from the RFT and STLPD didn't really help either. I can't really blame the paper but they certainly exploited the idiots involved who use(d) the metro for their petty crimes, etc to sell papers.. I also blame the mass fear hysteria of st. louis county voters. This makes me want to puke. For those that voted against it, please move to Omaha. St. Louis needs to be the METROPOLIS it USED to be. Lots of signs are encouraging but this is an unfortunate setback.

I guess the CNG fleet is going bye bye. This maybe an election of its own as Metro is renewing its fleet. Gilligs 1, Neoplan CNGs 0. I hate the Gillig and it won as Prop M failed.

I suppose we can hope President-elect Obama will put his money where his mouth is when it comes to investing in our infrastructure.

I'm disappointed but not surprised by the results in St. Louis County. For every progressive minded person west of Skinker (and there are plenty, some of them contribute to this forum after all) there's usually at least one person that couldn't care less if Greater St. Louis ever reaches its full potential.

Oh well- at least we're progressive enough not to let an old vacant building get in the way of another parking lot, right, Clayton?

Any indication that with Nixon in the governor's seat, we'd have any better luck at the state throwing in its fair share (as it should have been in the first place)?
