Buckingham has been vacated so don't look for the street to reopen --- ever. However, it may have some sort of pedestrian passage.

It will be partially open as an entrance to the garage. Just not as a thru street.

This is going to be a great project. I think the marketing slogan is extremely cheesy... "Like the Park East Tower, only shorter and with more attitude." Could've done better I think.

I agree with the above, the slogan is very unflattering. It seems to say "not quite as cool or rich as his friend, but more obnoxious!"

Sorry to repeat myself, but did anyone happen to attend the groundbreaking party and is there any news?

I'm not a fan of that view from the north side. I feel like the taller building should span the northern side too.

I'm assuming the shorter part is the roof of the garage. Maybe it's a pool deck, as well?

In reality I think the southeast corner of the Forest Park Hotel might conceal the facade more than in this particular angle shows... but if it doesn't then yeah I agree.

Is there a webcam for this project?

^ Walking by yesterday it appears that absolutely nothing's being done behind the construction fence. I'm assuming it's only a matter of weeks, but I'd assumed there would be some progress.

The roof of the garage is going to be the pool/sun deck. It will be on the fourth floor, so there will be three levels of units that will overlook this pool/sun deck if they face that way.

Is this pool going to get any sun, given the location on the fourth floor, the Park East Tower, and the Forest Park Hotel?

I saw soil samples being taken several weeks ago, but I haven't seen anything else besides that.

I think the Tower had soil issues also that slowed things down at the beginning.

I can't imagine that it would get too much sun, but the design has really been pieced together anyway. It was assumed that the Forest Park Hotel and it's (potential) retail clients would have built a parking garage on the PE Lofts site. The owners of the FP Hotel unexpectedly declined to purchase the property and so the PE people went to a plan B.

They have definitely broken ground on this development. The parking lot has been ripped up and stuff is everywhere. Signs of progress.

Yes, they have been busy for a while witha tremendous amount of ground work, pipework and foundation work, and the site is looking good. some of those units are going to be great and the homebuyers will be very happy. now, if opus continues after the lofts and builds their proposed next project down the road, that will be a surprise.

I'm still holding out hope for the second tower. It was a really nice looking project.

OMG - you mean, someone would want to live in the City. I'm shocked, SHOCKED! That's fantastic and the last time I was by, they were still only working on the foundation. Let's break ground on the Lindell/Euclid tower!!!!!

The base for the tower crane is now in place and it appears much of the excavation for the subsurface levels is finished. I was expecting ground based cranes for this project, but it will be a tower crane. Likely like the one used to construct 4545 Lindell to allow for movement around buildings.

Its good to hear that they're moving along with this project. I think it's a pretty cool design. I like the big windows.

That big crane is up but not being utilized. From my long hours of watching it seems they are still drilling the foundation pilings. Very entertaining.

Unfortunately, once these are up the residents of the PET will no longer be able to watch the waitstaff from Rasoi smoking on the little side patio.
