I think so... I don't think they are going to turn anyone away since they will be signing contracts and accepting reservations tonight.
Do any of you think Opus may have picked this particular site to protect the views of their Park East Tower residents who are facing North? I suppose not since the Lofts deal came afterwards, but what a great bonus for the Park East Tower tenants, especially those on the lower floors such as 8-10. The Lofts project or any similiar project could easily have been 10 stories.
P.S. I just checked the Park East Tower website and it says only 3 homes are left.

It's neat to see the Park East Tower in the background. Quite an Empire Opus is building on this block. Any idea of these units are selling? I assume they have to presell X% before they actually begin construction.
I think they are also waiting until they are finished with the PE tower since the lot that the PE lofts will sit on is being used for materials and equipment.

Actually, I think the portion visible in the background is the western end of the Park East Lofts building itself. They've got a model of it on display at the sales center (lighted and visible through the window at night), and it looks like the building wraps around the pool area on three sides. It's really quite a large building.
Yes, it is larger than I expected. I forgot to mention this back when Citylover and I stopped by the sales office to take a look in like March or April, but the site plan has Buckingham closed off about halfway along the building. The street will basically become an access drive for the garage. I'd prefer the street to stay open, but I think they are going on the logic that by closing the street they will concentrate the garage traffic in one spot instead of spreading it out. Access will start again off of North or South (Can't remember which name it is) off West pine.
Normally, I can look @ floorplans and decide which unit I like the best. Not which one I can afford but which one I like the best. These floorplans though have given every unit a little something something with a compromise or two in between. My two favorite units are Unit 14, the 3 bedroom, and Unit 04, the 2 bedroom with den. I like these because of all the windows. But I find it really hard to pick between them. For one thing, I would want my public balcony to overlook the pool rather than the street, winner Unit 14. But I would want a large master closet, winner Unit 04. Well, it's fun window shopping regardless. Weren't there a few special units that had private garages or something, I don't see those in the website. I hate not being to look at plans as these units get gobbled up and they make the pdf plans inaccesible. Boo!
If Buckingham closes, how are people gonna get to the buildings at/on North and South Court streets? If I remember corectly, those are one-way streets.

Anyone know how sales are progressing? Also, are they going to wait to start construction until the park east is finished?
I was told by OPUS that yes, they are planning to start construction after the Park East Tower is finished. After the lofts were finished, then they were going to move a bit up Euclid for the next tower, which one suspects may or may not happen.
I just talked to the sales agent and she said construction is about to start and the fence was going up as we speak. Good to hear.
About half are sold.
About half are sold.
I heard from a real estate agent that one couple who she sold a unit to was so unhappy with the actual product in the Tower that they walked away from their $20,000 deposit. Ouch.
That's crazy talk. Even if they didn't like their unit they would be total morons not to close and then sell even if they didn't make a profit. And based on the selling prices on the web, I think anybody who bought units during construction is looking at a profit.
I just closed on my unit in the tower and I was amazed at how on the mark it was to what had been presented to me. If they were displeased, maybe they should have paid more attention during the planning and upgrade stages. My only mistake was not to have upgraded more, doing these things afterwards is costly and incredibly time consuming. So much so I've even tossed around the idea of selling my unit in the Tower so I can start again in the next tower. I even thought about these lofts but I'm really concerned about the lack of views, with the exception of those facing Euclid.

I have a hard time believing anybody would be that utterly stupid.

This is bull$hit. I've talked to several residents of the building who said that buying in that building is the single best decision they've ever made.
btw, Barack Obama was at a private fundraiser in the Park East last week.
I second that, and I think the Park East Tower residents will be even happier when the Park East Lofts project is complete. The added retail and pedestrian traffic will bring much needed life to the corner. Any clues on construction time? One year? Two?
I think the literature I have and the realtor's comments stated a spring/summer 08 move in for the lofts. That seems quick, but possible.
Does anyone know the move in date for 4545 Lindell? They seem to have a long way to go yet. I realize that question is off topic.

Spring/Summer 08 seems possible. That gives a little over a year for a six floor building, not all of which will be condos. Seems reasonable enough for me for the first move ins. And actual construction should be starting soon with the plywood wall now in place along Euclid.
