^ See, if I had my way (as in: if I ran my own country), everyone would have their fingerprints and DNA added to a national registry at birth or upon applying for permanent residency and/or citizenship. Call it as dystopian as you will.

In any case, it's good to see technology and science being used like that to help solve old and new cases.

Good luck getting the state of Missouri to do this while they can't even get it together to comply the Real ID Act
I'd rather law enforcement not have a database of samples of every person's DNA. The opportunities for routine abuse and planting of evidence would certainly abound, and I have little reason to trust juries to protect innocent people when most seem utterly convinced by often faulty or inconclusive forensics.

Very sad to hear that it was a particularly violent weekend. Possibly it was from everyone going out after being stuck inside for a week due to the heat?
Always great when this kind of stuff hits the TripAdvisor forums regularly:

September was fairly wretched for homicides, up by near half from a year before. The City is still down for the year, and hopefully September proved an aberration.
What if St Louis City remained a County, but divided itself into, say, 6 cities of 50k each to better mirror St Louis County. Would that help facilitate a 10 year plan to assign a new designation to all the towns in both counties as, say, villages or boroughs from the legislature, and the two counties as a single “City of St Louis”? Boroughs could keep same services they provide now, and “City of St Louis” would provide all the services currently provided by St Louis County.

So we end up with a City split between 3 extremely poor, mostly black boroughs, and 3 middle income, mostly white boroughs. What does that solve exactly?
