Good deal. That side of the block continuing east needs some help. Hope this is a step in wrapping up infill over there.

Yes it does and hopefully this building with expedite that.

The building going up the hills at 13th will also be nice for the streetscape.

unfortunately it will no longer be all-brick. developer appealed on economic infeasibility. review board granted approval for non-brick sides and back. this project just got less exciting, IMO.
We clearly need a few of these or other similar bots around town in a hurry:

Though they're not quite bricks in the standard sense. But with time, I'm sure someone will tweak sizes and shapes and add artsy block laying patterns.

The reduced tax abatement required budget modifications. Bricks are expensive.

The brick to siding transition will occur on the left side of the elevator shaft, reference rendering. The siding, probably Hardie cement siding (not vinyl or aluminum) will match the brick color. Because of neighboring buildings, most people won't even notice the siding.
I'm pretty sure the owner hasn't even settled on a brick color yet. Could be grey (the neighboring building is tan brick), but might end up being closer to a red. Personally, I actually like the look of red siding against red brick.
