New Church of Scientology Building

Construction activity, major renovations, office projects, etc. in the Central Corridor -- defined by the area south of Delmar Avenue and North of Interstate 44/55.
^ Perhaps not the same vein, but 1900 Park almost feels like yet another underutilized arts space just a handful of blocks away.

I could also see this being prime creative co-working space. IE, tons of studio space, monthly and yearly co-working suites, with decent computer rigs, common areas, and maybe a community theater to be rented out for screenings or the like, at a much more accessible budget for indie filmmakers. I haven't seen the inside, but I thought there was an auditorium. Seems like a great opportunity for someone with a lot of vision. I have no idea the condition of the inside though.

Edit: Also found this from Colliers. No shots of the inside, though. Looks like proposals/offers were due by the 14th. https://listingsprod.blob.core.windows. ... 8b9fd44e44

Also, the Colliers thing says by February 14th, 2018.
Nice find on the inside photos!

This is a crazy idea...how about making it a school again. The gifted schools in STL are thriving and bursting at the seems. Could be an awesome school auditorium. Perhaps the performing arts school moves there.

I don't think it has been said yet here, but I think this would make for a good Moohlah Theater type redevelopment. There are apartments in the Moolah and the theater has movies and shows.
I wasn't far off at all on this idea. Three followers of mine, who live in the near vicinity, were told that an idea very close to this is on the boards. They said who the prospective developer is and he says that the intent is for apartments in the old school part and the theater being turned into a place where shows will be shown. He would like to remain anonymous but says that he's not sure of other parties interested and is encouraging others to come forward with their plans to create a healthy bidding process as the building is still available.

Thanks for those!

Not as ornately designed as I would have imagined, but also would certainly fit the bill for a Moolah-esque finish. Could obviously see this as a part time event space as well.
I like the stained glass windows of L. Ron and David Miscavige. But those white plaster frescos of rank and file Scientologists along the balcony are a bit too realistic.
You're comparing Wagner and Liszt to crazed cult leaders? Okay, neither of them tops my . . . roster . . . of nice guy composers, but at least neither of them started a cult. At least not quite intentionally. Well, not completely in . . . Er . . . never mind.

But they wrote good music for their cults. Beat that with a stick L Ron Hobbled!

Of course I wouldn't put it past some of Hubbard's gang to burn down the world if their darling hero gets stabbed in the back. So maybe it's not unfitting.

. . .

But I still actually like Wagner anyway.

OK, just getting around to looking through these. I *really* like the checkerboard lighting effect on the ceiling Thanks for sharing!
