Construction activity, major renovations, office projects, etc. in the Central Corridor -- defined by the area south of Delmar Avenue and North of Interstate 44/55.

New Forest Park Parkway pedestrian bridge to be built

Seems like they could easily build a new bridge parallel to the old one and keep the pedestrian access open through construction. If this was an automobile bridge carrying 600,000 cars yearly i bet they would do just that.
The new bridge will be set in place this weekend.
