Construction has begun on a new building that I was unaware of plans for.... I believe it will be the Environmental Health & Safety Building and will take up the parking lot at Clayton & Taylor (it is just south of the McKinley Research Building going up as well, which in turn is just south of the STLCOP building going up, which in turn is...). From the on site rendering, it looks like it will be 2-3 stories.

Meanwhile, Shriner's exterior is just about complete and they poured concrete for the massive lot fronting Clayton last week.

What do folks think of the Shriner's signage from I-64?

It's too low and the bottom letter or two are cut off. Unless there's no fencing and landscapping is kept at ground level all you see is "riner's Hospitals".

I really think they messed up.

^ yikes! they should also take down the billboard to clear the viewshed for the hospital.

Also, a shout out for the first person who can dig up a rendering of the new Wash U building.

^ thanks much! I wasn't able to get a good look at the rendering driving by but it looked like maybe two stories.... still haven't been able to find the rendering on the net. Anyway, it will be one less parking lot and one more infill.

^Well, not much to get excited about, but I guess this kind of building is a necessary evil in the overall scheme of things.
