Nice front-page piece on the front of the Webster - Kirkwood Times newspaper about the planned pedestrian/bicycle bridge across the Meramec River linked to the new I-44 car bridge over the river at I-270. http://www.timesnewspapers.com/pageimages/WKT042018cover.jpg http://www.timesnewspapers.com/dat...

This may have been posted sometime here - but this is an expansion plan for STL and their model ideas from 2015/2017 reports. http://www.gatewaystreets.org/2017/visions-of-new-concourses-at-lambert-airport/ Wow!! Going to repost these images (created/posted back in July 2016) https://preview.ibb.co...
I went on the Arch grounds free tour yesterday evening with about 40 others. Tom Nagel, Communications Manager for Gateway Arch Park Foundation, does a great job hosting these tours. He explains what was here before, and how the whole thing came to be -- including funding sources. I knew a lot of th...

That seems pretty logical. I wonder how hard it would be to just extend the current T2 roof and building in both directions to, say, double its size lengthwise.

Good suggestions. I just flew from Fort Lauderdale. They are a similar sized airport challenged with Southwest Airlines growth too and slowly improving. But it was nice that I could walk to my rental car rather than ride a bus.

From the BND artcile
"Employers also said lack of transportation access is a barrier to expansion."
Not a hub airport?

Why not just tell them when you are making the arrangements, "Call me when you have picked up your bag and head to the far end of the pickup area. I will be there in a couple of minutes." That's what the cell phone lot is for. Why would you even try to meet them inside the airport? That’s a pretty ...
But imagine if your friend flies in from another city and you have pre-agreed to meet them at the exit from security. But if you are by yourself and the short term lot is full, your only real option is to go to the cell phone lot, and then try to call after they land to let them know why you aren't...
The #1 thing that the airport could do to improve my satisfaction is improve the terminal parking situation. Whether that be raising the rates at T2 garage so that you could reasonably expect to get a spot when showing up for the mid morning bank of flights, or opening up concourse D so that I coul...
With the gorgeous weather today, my wife and I went down to check out the Arch grounds. Lots of people, many on spring break. But there were also a large number of Asian tourists, it appeared. International tourists seem more interested in the Arch than American tourists, outside of the Midwest. Wit...
Maybe this has been answered before, but is there going to be any barrier in front of the glass overhang on the museum? I wouldn't obviously be looking to stand and jump off of it towards the pool, but I could see a kid doing it and getting hurt. Not that I want to see any more fences, ever. Yes. T...
I still don't have any shots at all of or around the new station. Need to bag that one of these days. And it seems like every other time I'm driving back from dropping off my wife for class there's something Amtrak rolling through the Grand Interlocking. Probably the Texas Eagle, as I think I've se...
I would merge city and county police departments. Just like sewer sanitation run by MSD, crime is a regional concern that knows no city boundaries. I once heard a county town policeman refer to the St. Louis city police department in less than flattering terms -- implying his town's police departmen...
Breaking the Democrat's hold on the City and electing a truly Independent mayor. This "stay the course" crap needs to end, and soon. So tell us explicitly what the other party will do to fix the city. Based on what the legislature is doing and their devotion to Rex, it could lead to disaster. Would...
I am thrilled to read this news release from MODOT. I attended a MODOT public presentation in October about the new I-44 bridge and talked to the project manager and top engineers on the bridge, pushing for a bike lane to finally link the two long trails on opposite sides of the River. I also exchan...

Here is the Finalized Master Plan Report by DPZ for Downtown Kirkwood, and the Presentation Slides presented March 1, 2018 to the Kirkwood City Council. When you look at the rails, there is a huge bend right near the area. I like the name "The Bend" or "Prospect Bend".
So limebike is pretty much confirmed. They are hiring here- https://jobs.lever.co/limebike/3c1f7c64-b33f-4f65-ab97-67556302360b Let's see how this goes. While I would have preferred at least some sort of dock or hybrid system, beggars can't be choosers. They also have stated that they want to enter...
